A Cadence Boost in Zoho CRM is an additional touch point added to a Cadence when a prospect shows an engagement signal – such as opening an email, clicking a link, or visiting the website. Unlike regular Cadence Steps that fire on a fixed schedule, a Boost fires in real time when the signal is detected, allowing sales reps to follow up immediately when a prospect is actively engaged.

How Boosts Work

Boosts are configured at the Cadence level and linked to specific Signal triggers – email opens, link clicks, or website visits. When the signal is detected, the Boost adds a new task or email step to the rep’s queue immediately, outside the normal scheduled sequence.

For example, if a lead opens an email for the third time, a Boost can create an urgent call task for the rep: “Lead has re-opened the proposal email – call now.” This turns passive tracking data into an actionable, time-sensitive prompt.

Industry Example

ERP Sales: A Zoho ERP reseller uses Cadence Boosts configured to fire when a prospect opens the ROI calculator link in the proposal email more than once. The Boost creates a call task with the note “Prospect has viewed the ROI calculator 2+ times – high intent signal. Call within the hour.” This has significantly increased call connection rates for prospects close to a decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Cadence Boost in Zoho CRM?

A Cadence Boost is an additional outreach step triggered by a real-time engagement signal from a prospect – such as opening an email or clicking a link. It creates an immediate task for the sales rep to follow up while the prospect is actively engaged, rather than waiting for the next scheduled Cadence Step.
