Deleted records remain in the Recycle Bin for 60 days by default (varies by edition). During this period, any user with the appropriate permissions can restore a record to its original module. Restored records return with all their field values and related records (activities, notes) intact.
Records can also be permanently deleted from the Recycle Bin before the retention period expires. Permanently deleted records cannot be recovered.
A common issue in Zoho CRM implementations: if a record is deleted but still exists in the Recycle Bin, creating a new record with the same unique field value (such as the same email address) may trigger a duplicate warning. Always check the Recycle Bin when unexpected duplicate alerts appear for records that seem to have been removed.
