Business Term

PrimeTime fills the gap between a standard video call, where everyone can speak, and a pre-recorded webinar. It is a live broadcast inside Cliq where the host controls who can speak, audience members interact through a dedicated Q&A or chat panel, and the session can be scheduled and announced within the same platform where your team already communicates.

How PrimeTime Works in Zoho Cliq

PrimeTime is a broadcasting mode within Zoho Cliq designed for large internal audiences. A host schedules a PrimeTime session and shares it to a channel or sends invitations directly. During the broadcast, only the host and panellists can speak and share video. Attendees watch the stream and interact through a text-based Q&A panel. The host can promote an attendee to panellist status during the live session to allow them to speak.

When to Use PrimeTime

PrimeTime is suited to all-hands meetings, product announcements, leadership updates, training sessions, and any scenario where a consistent message needs to be delivered to a large group without the disruption of open microphones. It is not the right format for collaborative working sessions where multiple participants need to speak freely; a standard Cliq video call is more appropriate in those cases.

Key Considerations for PrimeTime

Session capacity and recording availability depend on your Zoho Cliq plan; verify the attendee limit before scheduling a company-wide event. The Q&A panel provides a structured way to handle questions, but the host must actively moderate it during the broadcast. Internet bandwidth is more critical for broadcast quality in PrimeTime than in a standard call, because the host’s stream is received by all attendees simultaneously.

India Example: A mid-size Chennai-based IT services company uses Zoho Cliq PrimeTime for its monthly all-hands meeting. The CEO presents strategy updates to 200 employees across three offices, while team leads submit questions through the Q&A panel, which the CEO answers live. No external webinar tool is needed.
How many attendees can join a PrimeTime session in Zoho Cliq?

The attendee limit for PrimeTime sessions depends on your Zoho Cliq subscription plan. Higher-tier plans support larger audiences. Before scheduling a company-wide broadcast, check the capacity limit in your Cliq admin settings or the plan comparison page on the Zoho website to confirm it covers your expected attendance. Exceeding the limit may prevent late joiners from accessing the session.

Can PrimeTime sessions in Zoho Cliq be recorded?

Recording availability for PrimeTime sessions varies by plan. When recording is supported, the host can start and stop recording during the session, and the file is typically made available in the channel or to the host after the broadcast ends. Check your specific plan features before committing to record and share a PrimeTime session with participants who could not attend live.
