Town Hall in Zoho Connect is a dedicated section or post format designed for organisation-wide announcements from administrators or designated authors. Posts made in the Town Hall area reach all members of the network regardless of which Groups they belong to. Employees can acknowledge, react to, and comment on Town Hall posts. The format is typically controlled: only specific roles can post to the Town Hall, preventing it from becoming a general discussion space.

When to Use Town Hall

Use Town Hall for communications that genuinely concern the entire organisation: annual results, leadership changes, new HR policies, holiday schedules, or office closure notices. Do not use it for team-specific updates or departmental news, which belong in the relevant Group. Overusing the Town Hall for minor announcements trains employees to ignore it, which defeats the purpose of having a dedicated high-visibility broadcast channel.

Key Considerations for Town Hall

Access to post in the Town Hall area is restricted by role, so confirm with your Zoho Connect administrator who has posting rights before planning a communication. Comments on Town Hall posts should be monitored promptly because they are visible to the whole organisation. If your announcement requires employees to formally acknowledge reading it, pair the post with a mandatory acknowledgement mechanism or follow up separately with confirmation tracking.
