Zoho CRM supports Signals from multiple sources: email open and link click tracking (from emails sent via Zoho CRM), SalesIQ website visit alerts, Zoho Campaigns email engagement, Zoho Survey responses, and custom signals via the Signals API.
When a Signal fires, a notification appears in the CRM’s Signal panel (the bell icon) with details of the event – which contact, which email, and when. The rep can click the notification to open the contact record and take immediate action.
Signals are the trigger mechanism for Cadence Boosts. When a Signal fires for a lead who is enrolled in a Cadence, the Boost adds an immediate follow-up step to the rep’s queue. This connects real-time behavioural data directly to the sales process.
A Signal Notification is a real-time in-app alert that tells a sales rep when a prospect takes an action outside the CRM – such as opening an email, clicking a link, or visiting the website. It allows reps to follow up with engaged prospects immediately rather than relying on scheduled outreach.
Email open and click tracking Signals work for emails sent directly from Zoho CRM records where tracking is enabled. Emails sent from external email clients (such as Gmail or Outlook) outside of CRM will not generate Signals unless the BCC feature or email integration is configured.
