A payslip in Zoho Payroll is the official monthly salary statement issued to each employee, showing earnings, deductions, net pay, and statutory contribution details for the pay period.

A payslip in Zoho Payroll is a detailed salary statement generated for each employee at the end of every pay run. It lists all earning components (Basic, HRA, allowances), all deduction components (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, loans), gross salary, net salary, employer PF contribution, and year-to-date figures. Payslips are published to the employee self-service portal as PDFs and are legally required documentation under Indian labour law.

What a Zoho Payroll Payslip Contains

A standard Zoho Payroll payslip includes: employee name, ID, designation, and department; pay period dates; earnings table with each component and amount; deductions table with statutory and voluntary deductions; gross and net salary; employer PF and ESI contributions; LOP days if applicable; and year-to-date totals for key figures. The format is customisable through the payslip template settings.

Payslip Access and Distribution

Once a pay run is finalised, Zoho Payroll automatically publishes payslips to each employee’s self-service portal. Employees can view and download PDF payslips at any time. Bulk payslip emails can be sent from the admin dashboard. Payslips remain accessible for historical periods, which is useful for loan applications and background verification.

Payslip as Compliance Evidence

Payslips serve as evidence of PF, ESI, and PT deductions. During statutory audits or employee grievances, payslips from Zoho Payroll provide a complete month-by-month record of compliance. The payslip also shows the employer’s PF contribution, clarifying the total retirement benefit the employee accrues each month.

Example: After finalising the May pay run, a payroll admin clicks ‘Send Payslips’. All 50 employees receive an email with their May payslip PDF. The payslip shows Basic Rs 25,000, HRA Rs 12,500, Special Allowance Rs 10,000, Gross Rs 47,500, less EPF Rs 1,800, PT Rs 200, TDS Rs 2,100, Net Rs 43,400.
