Zoho Sign supports connections to services including Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, and Zoho WorkDrive. Once connected through the Zoho Sign integrations settings, you can browse files directly from these services when creating a new document in Zoho Sign. After all parties have signed, the completed PDF, including the audit trail and evidence summary, can be automatically saved back to a specified folder in the connected storage. The connection uses OAuth, so no passwords are stored in Zoho Sign.
Enable cloud storage integration when your team’s source documents (contracts, proposals, order forms) already live in a cloud drive and you want completed signed copies returned to the same location automatically. It is particularly useful for firms that use cloud storage as their document-of-record system and need a clean chain of custody from draft to signed copy. Avoid relying on it as a backup strategy for signed documents; always verify that completed files have been written to the expected folder.
The integration must be authorised by each Zoho Sign user individually; an admin connecting Google Drive for their own account does not automatically connect it for other team members. If the OAuth token expires or the user revokes access in the cloud storage app, automatic saving will silently fail until the connection is re-authorised. For Zoho WorkDrive, the integration is tighter because both services share Zoho’s identity layer, so token management is more stable than with third-party providers.
Cloud storage integration is primarily used for importing individual documents and saving completed signed copies. Templates in Zoho Sign are stored within Zoho Sign itself, not in connected cloud storage. However, you can import a file from cloud storage and save it as a template once inside Zoho Sign, and completed documents generated from that template can be auto-saved back to your cloud storage.
The completed document remains in Zoho Sign’s document library regardless of whether it is also saved to cloud storage. The cloud storage save is additive, not a move. You can access the audit trail, evidence summary, and signed PDF from Zoho Sign at any time, even if you also have a copy in your Google Drive or OneDrive folder.
