Canvas in Zoho CRM is a no-code UI designer that lets administrators build completely custom record detail page layouts using a drag-and-drop canvas. Unlike standard Page Layouts, Canvas allows pixel-level control over the visual design of a record view, including custom styling, image fields, and component placement.
Canvas is Zoho CRM’s advanced layout designer. While a standard Page Layout organises fields into rows and columns within a fixed structure, Canvas lets you design the record detail page as a free-form visual layout – similar to a website builder. You can place fields, labels, images, icons, and colour blocks anywhere on the canvas.
Canvas designs are assigned to specific Profiles, so different teams can see different visual layouts for the same record type. A sales rep’s Contact view might show a compact deal-history card layout, while a support rep sees a service-history layout for the same Contact.
Canvas supports: text labels, field values, buttons, images, progress bars, status chips, and conditional formatting. You can set background colours, font sizes, and padding for any component, giving a CRM record the look and feel of a custom application.
