This is the full demo walkthrough of CRM Explorer, a free WebTab widget we built at Aaxonix to give Zoho CRM admins complete visibility into their org’s configuration from a single screen. If you manage a Zoho CRM org and have ever spent twenty minutes hunting through Setup to understand how your automation interacts with a field you want to delete, this tool was built for exactly that situation.
A Zoho CRM Audit Tool Built Out of Necessity
We built CRM Explorer after years of
auditing client Zoho orgs before implementations and migrations. The problem was consistent: no single place shows you fields, automations, blueprints, permissions, and user structure together. You click through Setup endlessly, export nothing cleanly, and guess at dependencies before making a change.CRM Explorer installs as a WebTab inside Zoho CRM, connects via OAuth, and reads your org’s schema. It does not access record data. Nothing leaves your org to external servers. Setup takes under ten minutes, and it works on Zoho CRM Professional, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions.
The tool reads metadata only. Your actual CRM records are never accessed, and no schema data is stored on Aaxonix servers. The AI Assist module uses your own API key, stored in your browser.
What the Demo Covers: All 16 Modules
The walkthrough goes through all 16 modules in sequence. Here is a breakdown of what each group does so you know where to focus as you watch.
Schema and Data Structure
Entity Explorer gives you a searchable catalog of every module with field API names, layouts, and metadata.
ER Graph renders an interactive diagram of how your modules connect through lookup fields.
Field Audit runs a six-tab analysis covering picklists, heatmaps, data types, required fields, layout assignments, and lead conversion mapping.
Data Flow traces how records move between modules through workflows and custom functions.
Automation and Process
Automation Map shows every workflow, validation, and assignment rule with 90-day trigger counts so you can see what is actually firing.
Blueprint Studio renders state diagrams with transition permissions and required fields.
Function Registry catalogs all your Deluge and Java functions by type.
Email Templates displays your template library with merge field validation and folder tracking.
Governance and Permissions
Permission Matrix gives you four tabs: an overview, a field-level permission grid by profile, the role hierarchy tree, and a profile-to-user mapping.
User Audit lists every user in your org, with a dedicated tab for orphans, disabled users who still own active records or automation rules. These are easy to miss in standard Zoho Setup and frequently cause data issues during migrations.
Configuration Health
Change Checker runs a pre-change impact analysis before you modify a field or automation, flagging what will break, what might be affected, and what is safe to change.
Config Review scores your configuration consistency and surfaces picklist mismatches, layout gaps, and permission inconsistencies.
Dead Weight identifies ghost fields, unused custom functions, and orphaned email templates.
Module Compare puts two modules side by side for a direct configuration comparison.
AI CRM Assist
The AI module lets you ask natural language questions about your CRM configuration. Ask it about unused fields in a module, which automations depend on a specific picklist value, or what would break if you removed a lookup field. It works with Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini. You supply your own API key, and it stays in your browser. No schema data is sent to Aaxonix.
Install CRM Explorer Free
