A lesson is the atomic unit of content delivery in Zoho Learn. Each lesson contains one piece of learning content, such as a video, a written article, a quiz, or an assignment. Learners mark lessons as complete to progress through a course.
Zoho Learn supports several lesson types: video lessons (uploaded or linked from YouTube or Vimeo), text lessons (rich-text articles), quizzes (auto-graded assessments), and assignments (file submissions reviewed by an instructor).
A lesson is marked complete when the learner watches the full video, reads the text, submits a quiz, or submits an assignment. Admins can require a minimum watch percentage for videos before marking them complete.
Zoho Learn does not natively support lesson reuse across courses. Each course maintains its own copy of lessons, though you can duplicate a lesson within the same course.
Best practice is to keep lessons focused and short: five to ten minutes for videos, and 300 to 600 words for text lessons. Short lessons reduce drop-off and make it easier for learners to resume where they left off.
