Completion Status

A learner-level indicator in Zoho Learn showing whether a course is not started, in progress, or completed, based on lesson and assessment progress.

What is Completion Status in Zoho Learn?

Completion status is the state of a learner’s progress in a course. Zoho Learn tracks three primary states: Not Started (enrolled but no lessons opened), In Progress (at least one lesson completed), and Completed (all required lessons and assessments finished).

What Triggers Completion

A course is marked Completed when the learner finishes all required lessons and passes any required assessments with a score at or above the passing threshold. Optional content does not block completion.

Viewing Completion Status

Admins and instructors can view completion status for every enrolled learner from the course reports panel. Filters allow viewing all learners, only completed, or only in-progress or not-started, making it easy to identify who needs a follow-up nudge.

Can completion status be manually overridden by an admin?

Yes. Admins can manually mark a course as complete for a learner in cases where technical issues prevented proper tracking, or where prior learning has been formally recognised.

Does completion status sync with Zoho People?

When the Zoho Learn and Zoho People integration is enabled, completion status updates are reflected in the employee’s training record in Zoho People automatically.
