What Is a Task in Zoho Projects?

A task in Zoho Projects is the fundamental unit of work. It has a name, description, assignee, start date, due date, priority, estimated hours, and status. Tasks are grouped under task lists and may have subtasks, dependencies, comments, and attached files.

Task Fields

Key fields include: Owner (assignee), Priority (High, Medium, Low, None), Status (Open, In Progress, Completed, custom), Estimated Hours, Percentage Completion, and Tags. Custom fields can be added to capture additional information specific to your workflow.

Task Updates

Team members update their tasks by logging time, changing status, and adding comments. These updates feed into project progress calculations, timesheet reports, and the Gantt chart. Keeping tasks current is essential for accurate project reporting.
