Record Updated Trigger

A Zoho Flow trigger that fires when an existing record in a connected application is modified, enabling workflows that respond to status changes and data updates.

What Is a Record Updated Trigger in Zoho Flow?

The Record Updated Trigger in Zoho Flow fires when an existing record in a connected application is modified. It can be configured to fire when any field changes or only when specific fields change. For example: fire when a CRM Deal’s Stage field changes, or when a Desk Ticket’s Status changes to Resolved.

Common Use Cases

When a CRM Deal stage changes to Closed Won, create an invoice in Zoho Books. When a Zoho People employee’s department changes, update their email group membership. When an Inventory item’s stock falls below a threshold (quantity updated), create a Purchase Order. Record Updated Triggers enable reactive, event-driven workflows that keep systems in sync.

Avoiding Trigger Loops

Be careful with Record Updated Triggers: if Flow A updates Record X in App A, and Flow B is triggered by Record X being updated in App A, the two flows can create a loop. Add conditions that verify the update was not caused by an automated flow before triggering further automation.
