What Is a Post in Zoho Social?

A post in Zoho Social is any piece of content created within the platform and published or scheduled for publication to one or more connected social media profiles. Posts can contain text, images, videos, links, and hashtags, formatted appropriately for each target platform. Zoho Social allows you to customise the post content for each network independently, so the same message can be tailored for Instagram’s visual format and LinkedIn’s professional audience without creating separate posts.

Creating a Post in Zoho Social

When creating a post, you select which connected profiles to publish to, compose the content, and add media if needed. Zoho Social displays a preview of how the post will appear on each selected platform, helping you catch formatting issues before publishing. You can publish immediately, schedule for a specific date and time, add to the post queue (SmartQ), or save as a draft for later.

Post Types and Platform Requirements

Different social platforms have different requirements for post types. Instagram supports images, carousels, Reels, and Stories; LinkedIn supports text, images, documents, and video; Facebook supports all standard formats plus events and offers. How does Zoho Social handle character limits for different platforms?

Zoho Social displays a character counter for each platform as you compose your post, showing how much of the limit you have used. When the limit is reached for a specific platform, the excess text is highlighted. If you are posting to multiple platforms with different limits (such as Twitter/X’s shorter limit and LinkedIn’s longer limit), Zoho Social lets you edit the platform-specific version while keeping the others intact.
