People API

The Zoho People API is a REST API that allows developers to programmatically access and manage HR data — employees, leave, attendance, timesheets, and more — enabling integration of Zoho People with other enterprise systems and custom applications.

What is the Zoho People API?

The Zoho People API exposes core HR data and operations as HTTP endpoints, enabling developers to build integrations between Zoho People and other enterprise systems. Common use cases include syncing employee records with an ERP, pulling attendance data into a custom workforce analytics dashboard, or triggering onboarding workflows from an HRMS portal.

Key API capabilities

Employee data: Create, read, update, and deactivate employee records.
Leave management: Fetch leave balances, submit leave requests, approve or reject requests.
Attendance: Push attendance records from external biometric systems, fetch daily attendance summaries.
Timesheets: Create and retrieve timesheet entries.
Forms and custom modules: Read and write data in any custom form or module.

Authentication

The Zoho People API uses OAuth 2.0. You register your application in Zoho Developer Console, obtain credentials, and exchange them for an access token that is used in all API requests.
