Go to Sales, then Payment Links, and click New Payment Link. Enter the payment amount, a description the customer will see on the payment page, an expiry date after which the link becomes inactive, and the customer’s name or email. Zoho Books generates a unique URL. Share it via email, WhatsApp, or SMS. The customer clicks the link, chooses their payment method (UPI, card, net banking, or wallet), and pays securely.
When a customer completes payment via the link, Zoho Books automatically records the transaction and sends a receipt to the customer. The amount is posted to your bank account and the income account you configured for the link. If the link was sent to a specific customer, the payment appears in that customer’s transaction history in Zoho Books, maintaining a complete record.
Use a payment link when you need to collect quickly and the transaction does not require a formal GST invoice. For any taxable supply, you are obligated under GST to issue a proper invoice. Payment links are best suited for collections from unregistered consumers, small deposits, or internal fund transfers. For B2B transactions, raise a proper invoice and use the invoice’s Pay Now button or share the invoice link directly from Zoho Books.
A payment link in Zoho Books is a shareable URL that allows a customer to pay a specified amount online without the need for a formal invoice. It is used for quick collections, event registrations, deposits, and ad-hoc payments.
Go to Sales, then Payment Links, click New Payment Link. Enter the amount, description, expiry date, and customer details. Zoho Books generates a shareable link that you can send via WhatsApp, email, or SMS.
