My Folder in Zoho WorkDrive is each user’s private storage area. Files stored here are not accessible to other team members unless the user explicitly shares them. My Folder is used for personal drafts, work in progress, and files that are not yet ready to share, as well as content the user receives from external file requests that they review before moving to a shared Team Folder.
My Folder is personal and private, while Team Folders are collaborative and shared. Content in My Folder does not appear in team search results or team activity logs. Users can organise My Folder with their own subfolder structure without affecting the shared folder hierarchy visible to the rest of the team.
When a file in My Folder is ready to be shared with the team, the user can move or copy it to a Team Folder directly from the WorkDrive interface. The file then becomes subject to the Team Folder’s permission settings and appears in the shared activity log, making the transition from private draft to shared document seamless.
Yes. Files stored in My Folder count against the organisation’s overall Zoho WorkDrive storage quota. Each user’s personal and shared storage usage is visible to the WorkDrive admin in the admin console, helping monitor storage allocation across the organisation.
When a user account is deactivated in Zoho WorkDrive, the organisation admin can transfer ownership of the files in My Folder to another user before deletion. This prevents accidental loss of important documents that were stored privately by the departing employee.
