A milestone in Zoho Projects marks a significant point in the project timeline, such as the completion of a project phase, delivery of a key document, or sign-off from a stakeholder. Unlike tasks, milestones have no duration — they represent a moment in time, not a period of work.
Set milestones at the end of each major phase so stakeholders can see whether the project is on track at a high level without reviewing every task. Common milestones include Kickoff Complete, Design Approved, UAT Sign-off, and Go-Live.
Tasks can be linked to milestones so that the milestone is automatically marked complete when all prerequisite tasks are done. This removes the need for manual milestone updates and reduces reporting overhead for project managers.
