An Item Group in Zoho Inventory is a parent product that contains multiple variants — such as a shoe in different sizes and colours — allowing all variants to share common attributes while each variant maintains its own SKU, price, and stock level.
An Item Group is a way to organise related product variants under a single parent record. For example, a Cotton T-Shirt item group might have variants for every combination of size (S, M, L, XL) and colour (Red, Blue, Black) — each variant has its own SKU and can have different pricing and stock levels, but they all share the same description, category, and tax settings from the parent group.
You define the variant dimensions (called attributes) on the Item Group — Size, Colour, Material — and the values for each attribute (S, M, L for Size; Red, Blue, Black for Colour). Zoho Inventory can auto-generate all combinations as individual variants, which you then customise as needed.
