A File Upload Field is a form component in Zoho Creator that lets users attach one or more files when submitting a record. The uploaded files are stored in Zoho’s file storage and associated with the record. Common uses include attaching documents to approval requests, uploading photos for field service reports, adding invoices to expense submissions, or linking signed agreements to contract records.
Builders can restrict which file types are accepted by specifying allowed extensions, such as PDF and DOCX only for a document field, or JPEG and PNG for a photo field. Maximum file size limits can also be configured. These controls prevent incorrect file types from being uploaded and keep storage usage predictable.
Uploaded files appear as downloadable links in record detail views and list reports. Deluge scripts can reference the file URL for use in email notifications or API pushes to external systems. File fields support multiple file uploads per record when configured to allow multiple attachments, enabling use cases such as uploading several photos from a single inspection visit.
