The File Activity Log in Zoho WorkDrive is a detailed audit trail for a specific file, showing every action taken on it over time. Actions logged include file uploads and edits, version changes, comments added or resolved, share link creation and revocation, permission changes, moves, and downloads. Each entry shows the user who performed the action and the timestamp.
Users with at least Commenter access to a file can view its activity log by opening the file’s details panel in Zoho WorkDrive. The log provides a scrollable timeline of all recorded events. This is particularly useful when investigating how a file changed, identifying who made a specific edit, or confirming that a required review step was completed.
The file activity log supports compliance requirements by providing a non-repudiable record of who did what and when. The File Activity Log retains history for as long as the file exists in WorkDrive and the log retention setting allows. Zoho WorkDrive allows organisation admins to export activity logs at the folder or organisation level from the admin console. File-level activity logs can be viewed in the interface, and the broader audit log export includes file-level events within the selected scope.
