Zoho Inventory

Expiry Date Tracking

The ability in Zoho Inventory to record and monitor expiry dates on batches of perishable or time-sensitive items to ensure FEFO fulfilment.

What Is Expiry Date Tracking?

Expiry date tracking in Zoho Inventory records the expiry date against each batch of an item. The system can alert you when stock is approaching expiry and supports FEFO (First Expired, First Out) picking to ensure older stock ships before newer stock.

Enabling Expiry Tracking

Expiry date tracking is enabled at the item level in conjunction with batch tracking. Once enabled, every goods receipt for that item requires an expiry date entry per batch.

Compliance and Safety

For regulated industries like food, pharma, and cosmetics, expiry tracking is not optional but a legal requirement. Zoho Inventory’s expiry alerts help operations teams proactively liquidate or write off near-expiry stock before it becomes unsellable waste.
