Exit Interview

An Exit Interview in Zoho People is a structured conversation or survey conducted with an employee who is leaving the organisation, capturing their reasons for leaving, feedback on the work environment, and suggestions for improvement. The data feeds into attrition analysis.

What is an Exit Interview in Zoho People?

The Exit Interview is one of the most valuable feedback mechanisms available to HR — employees who are leaving have little reason to give sanitised answers and often provide the most candid assessment of management quality, culture, compensation competitiveness, and process problems. Zoho People facilitates exit interviews through structured surveys or forms triggered automatically when a resignation is processed.

Exit interview formats

  • Online survey: A self-administered form sent to the employee before their last day, covering reasons for leaving, job satisfaction, manager effectiveness, and suggestions.
  • Face-to-face interview: A structured conversation with HR, with notes recorded in Zoho People.

Data and attrition analytics

Exit interview responses are stored against the employee record and can be aggregated in Zoho Analytics to identify patterns: which departments have the highest voluntary attrition, which managers are consistently cited in exit feedback, or which compensation issues are driving departures.
