An Email Task is a workflow action in Zoho Creator that triggers an outgoing email when a specified form event fires, such as a new record being added or an existing record being edited. Builders configure the recipient addresses, subject line, and body content using a template editor that supports field variable placeholders to personalise each message with record data.
The Email Task editor allows static text combined with field merge tags from the triggering record. For example, a support ticket submission can send an acknowledgement email to the submitter’s email address field with their name and a reference number pulled directly from the form data. HTML formatting is supported for styled emails.
Email Tasks are the no-code approach to automated emails in Creator; they require no Deluge scripting and are configured through a visual interface. The Deluge sendMail function provides greater control for dynamic recipient logic, conditional content, or sending from specific sender addresses. For straightforward notification emails tied to a single workflow event, Email Tasks are the faster and simpler option.
