A Delay in Zoho Flow inserts a pause in the workflow execution, waiting a defined amount of time before proceeding to the next step. Delays are used when actions should not happen immediately after the trigger — for example, sending a follow-up email 3 days after a trial signup rather than immediately.
Zoho Flow supports fixed delays (wait X hours/days) and dynamic delays (wait until a specific date and time stored in a record field, such as a contract renewal date). Dynamic delays are particularly useful for time-sensitive business processes where the exact timing depends on data values rather than a fixed interval.
Long delays (days or weeks) create records in Zoho Flow’s pending queue. Be aware that if the flow is edited or the connection is disrupted while a record is in a delay queue, the pending action may be affected. Monitor pending flows and test delay-based sequences thoroughly before deploying to production.
