Custom Domain (Creator)

A Custom Domain in Zoho Creator lets organisations host their application on their own branded URL instead of the default creator.zoho.com address.

What Is a Custom Domain in Zoho Creator?

By default, Zoho Creator applications are accessible at a subdomain under creator.zoho.com. A Custom Domain configuration allows organisations to point their own domain or subdomain to the Creator application, so users access it at an address like apps.yourcompany.com instead of a Zoho URL. This reinforces brand consistency and is often required for client-facing applications.

Setting Up a Custom Domain

The setup involves two steps: configuring a CNAME record in the organisation’s DNS settings to point the desired subdomain to Zoho’s servers, and then registering that domain in the Creator application settings. Creator validates the DNS record and issues an SSL certificate for the custom domain. The process typically takes a few hours for DNS propagation to complete.

Custom Domain Considerations

Each Creator application can have one custom domain mapped to it. The custom domain applies to the portal access URL; the Creator Studio itself remains accessible via the standard Zoho URL for builders. Custom domains require an appropriate Creator plan tier and are particularly valued by implementation partners delivering white-labelled applications to their clients under the client’s own brand.
