Zoho Inventory

Committed Stock

The quantity of an item in Zoho Inventory that has been allocated to confirmed but not yet fulfilled sales orders.

What Is Committed Stock?

Committed stock in Zoho Inventory represents inventory that is reserved for confirmed sales orders but has not yet been physically dispatched. This quantity is subtracted from stock on hand to derive available stock.

Lifecycle of Committed Stock

Stock becomes committed when a sales order is confirmed. It remains committed until the shipment is created and the order is fulfilled, at which point it converts to a reduction in stock on hand. Cancelling an order releases the committed quantity back to available.

Why Track It

Without committed stock tracking, warehouse teams might pick and ship items that were already promised to another customer. Committed stock visibility prevents fulfilment conflicts, especially during peak seasons with high order volumes.
