Clock In and Clock Out in Zoho People are the actions by which an employee records the start and end of their working day. The timestamps are captured via web portal, mobile app, biometric device, or QR code and used to calculate daily working hours, overtime, and late arrivals.
Clock In records the timestamp when an employee begins their work day; Clock Out records when they end it. The difference between the two (minus any break time) gives the total hours worked for the day. This data drives attendance records, LOP calculations, overtime tracking, and shift deviation flags.
If an employee clocks in after the shift start time or clocks out before the shift end time, Zoho People flags the deviation. Depending on the configured policy, this may trigger a notification to the manager, require a regularisation request, or automatically reduce the working hours for that day.
