What Is a Project Budget in Zoho Projects?

A project budget in Zoho Projects defines the maximum planned expenditure for the project, expressed either as a total monetary amount or as total budgeted hours. The budget is set during project creation and serves as the financial baseline against which actual costs are measured.

Budget Types

Zoho Projects supports three budget approaches: fixed cost (a lump sum for the whole project), hourly rate (budget calculated from hours multiplied by rates), and hours-based (total hours budget without monetary conversion). Choose based on your engagement model.

Budget Alerts

Configure budget threshold alerts in Zoho Projects to receive notifications when the project reaches 50%, 75%, or 90% of its budget. Early warning gives project managers time to take corrective action before the budget is exhausted.
