Zoho Inventory

Bin Location

A specific storage position within a warehouse in Zoho Inventory, such as a shelf, rack, or aisle, used for precise item location tracking.

What Is a Bin Location?

A bin location is the most granular level of location tracking in Zoho Inventory. While a warehouse represents the building, a bin represents the exact storage slot within it, such as Aisle A, Rack 3, Shelf 2. Bin locations help warehouse staff find items quickly and support zone-based picking strategies.

Setting Up Bins

Enable bin tracking in Zoho Inventory settings, then define bins under each warehouse. Items can be assigned default bin locations, and transactions like receipts and picks can specify the bin.

Operational Impact

Bin locations reduce pick errors, shorten pick times, and support cycle counting by zone. They are essential for larger warehouses where visual scanning for items is impractical.
