What Is a Barcode in Zoho Inventory?

A barcode in Zoho Inventory is a numeric or alphanumeric identifier assigned to an item or variant that can be scanned using a barcode reader or mobile device. It accelerates warehouse operations by eliminating manual data entry during goods receipt, stock counts, and shipment packing.

Barcode Types Supported

Zoho Inventory supports EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128, and QR codes. You can auto-generate barcodes or import existing ones. The system can also print barcode labels directly from item records.

Use in Operations

During receiving, scanning a barcode auto-populates the item on the purchase order. During packing, the warehouse team scans items against the pick list to confirm accuracy before shipment.
