Team Member (Social)

A user added to a Brand in Zoho Social with a defined role such as Admin, Author, or Monitor, determining what they can publish, schedule, or access.

What Is a Team Member in Zoho Social?

A Team Member in Zoho Social is a user who has been added to a Brand with a specific role that defines their permissions. Roles determine whether a user can publish posts immediately, schedule posts for later, submit posts for approval, access analytics, manage connected profiles, or administer the Brand’s settings. Assigning appropriate roles ensures the right people have the right level of access to the Brand’s social media management tools.

Common Team Member Roles

Zoho Social provides several roles including: Admin — full control over the Brand including settings, profiles, and team management; Author — can create and schedule posts but may require approval before publishing; Monitor — can view and respond to content in the Inbox and Monitors but cannot create posts. Some plans also include a Reporter role with read-only access to analytics. The exact role names and permissions may vary by Zoho Social version.

Team Members in Agency Settings

For agencies using Zoho Social, Team Members can be internal agency staff (who need full publishing access) and client contacts (who need limited access to approve posts or view reports). The approval workflow allows agency staff to create content that a designated client Team Member reviews and approves before it is published, maintaining client oversight without giving clients direct publishing rights.

Can a Team Member in Zoho Social be added to multiple Brands?

Yes. A person can be a Team Member of multiple Brands in Zoho Social, which is common for agency account managers who handle multiple client accounts. Each Brand membership has its own role assignment, so the same person can be an Admin for one Brand and an Author for another, with permissions appropriately scoped to each client’s requirements.

Can I limit which connected profiles a Team Member can post to in Zoho Social?

Profile-level access restrictions depend on the Zoho Social plan tier. Some plans allow you to restrict a Team Member’s publishing permissions to specific connected profiles within a Brand, rather than giving blanket access to all profiles. This is useful in agencies where a copywriter handles one client’s Facebook and Instagram but should not have access to another client’s profiles connected under the same Brand.
