What Is a Brand Mention?

A Brand Mention in Zoho Social is any public social media post that references your brand name, product name, or service, regardless of whether your account is directly tagged with the @ symbol. Direct mentions (@YourBrand) appear in your notifications on the social platform, but untagged mentions are invisible without a monitoring tool. Zoho Social captures both types through its monitoring columns, giving you a more complete view of brand conversations.

Monitoring Brand Mentions

You set up a Brand Mention monitor in Zoho Social by creating a Monitor Column for your brand name and common variations (including misspellings). Zoho Social streams matching posts in real time, allowing your team to respond to feedback, thank advocates, address complaints, and identify potential leads. The ability to respond to untagged mentions is particularly valuable for customer service and reputation management.
