Photo Capture is a feature in the Zoho FSM mobile app that allows field agents to take photos directly from the app and attach them to a Work Order. Photos can document the state of equipment before and after service, capture visible damage or safety hazards, record meter readings, show completed installation work, or provide evidence for warranty claims. All photos are timestamped and geotagged and stored permanently against the Work Order.
A standard practice in field service is to capture photos at arrival (showing the asset’s initial condition), during the job (showing the fault or the work in progress), and on completion (showing the finished work). This before-and-after documentation protects both the service company and the customer by creating an unambiguous visual record of what condition the equipment was in and what was done to it.
Photos attached to a Work Order are immediately visible to dispatchers and senior engineers reviewing the job from the office. If a field agent encounters an unfamiliar fault, they can photograph it and send it for remote review while remaining on-site. This expert review capability reduces the need for a second visit by a more senior technician, improving first-time fix rates without requiring the expert to travel to the site.
Photos captured through the FSM mobile app are uploaded to Zoho’s cloud storage and linked to the Work Order record. They are accessible from the Work Order detail view in both the desktop and mobile interfaces. Photos are retained as part of the Work Order record for as long as the record is stored in FSM, subject to the account’s data retention settings.
Yes. The job completion notification sent to customers can include a link to or attachments of the completion photos, giving customers visual confirmation of what was done. For service contracts where photographic evidence of service completion is a contractual requirement, the automated photo delivery in the completion email satisfies that obligation without additional manual steps.
