Offline Mode allows Zoho FSM’s mobile app to function without an active internet connection. Field agents working in locations with poor or no connectivity, such as underground facilities, rural areas, or signal-blocked buildings, can continue accessing their appointment schedule, viewing asset details, logging parts, adding notes, capturing signatures, and completing Work Orders. The data is stored locally on the device and synchronised with the FSM server when connectivity returns.
For offline mode to be effective, the app pre-downloads the day’s schedule and associated Work Order data when the agent is connected at the start of their shift. This includes appointment details, asset history, parts catalogue, and customer information needed for the day’s jobs. Real-time updates from the dispatcher (such as new urgent jobs) are not visible until connectivity is restored, so agents in prolonged offline situations should check in with dispatchers by phone for emergency changes.
When the app reconnects, it uploads all offline actions with their original timestamps. If the dispatcher made changes to the same Work Order while the agent was offline (such as updating parts or adding notes from an inbound customer call), FSM applies a merge resolution based on the nature of the field. Conflicts that cannot be auto-resolved are flagged for manual review to prevent data loss.
No. New assignments from the dispatcher are pushed to the agent via the server and are not visible while the app is offline. When the agent reconnects, any new assignments that came in during the offline period will appear on their schedule. For time-sensitive emergency assignments to an agent in a poor-coverage area, the dispatcher should also contact the agent directly by phone.
The storage requirement depends on the number of jobs scheduled and the size of attachments (photos, documents) pre-downloaded with each Work Order. Typical daily schedules with standard Work Orders require modest storage. Admins can configure whether large attachments like manuals or historical photos are included in the offline pre-download, balancing completeness against storage and pre-download time.
