Integration Task

An Integration Task in Zoho Creator is a workflow action that connects a form event to an external application or another Zoho product using a pre-built connector.

What Is an Integration Task in Zoho Creator?

An Integration Task is a type of workflow action in Zoho Creator that sends data to or retrieves data from an external service when triggered by a form event. Rather than writing raw API calls in Deluge, Integration Tasks use pre-built connectors to popular services such as Zoho CRM, Zoho Books, Slack, Google Sheets, and many others. This allows non-developers to configure integrations through a guided interface.

How Integration Tasks Work

When configuring an Integration Task in a workflow, builders select the target application from the connector library, authenticate the connection, and map Creator form fields to the destination system’s fields. When the workflow fires, Creator executes the Integration Task automatically, pushing or pulling data according to the mapping defined.

Integration Tasks vs Direct Deluge API Calls

Integration Tasks are the low-code path to external connectivity; Deluge’s invokeUrl function is the code-level path. Integration Tasks are faster to set up and require no knowledge of REST APIs or authentication headers. Deluge API calls offer more flexibility for complex multi-step integrations, dynamic endpoint construction, or working with services not available in the connector library.
