Scheduled Trigger (Creator)

A Scheduled Trigger in Zoho Creator runs a Deluge workflow automatically at a defined time or recurring interval, enabling time-based automation without user action.

What Is a Scheduled Trigger in Zoho Creator?

A Scheduled Trigger is a time-based automation in Zoho Creator that executes a Deluge script at a set time or on a repeating schedule, such as daily at midnight, every Monday morning, or on the first of each month. Unlike event triggers that respond to user actions, Scheduled Triggers run autonomously based on the defined schedule.

Configuring a Schedule

Builders set the frequency using a simple schedule editor in the Creator Studio, choosing from options such as hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or custom cron-style intervals. The Deluge script associated with the trigger can query records, perform calculations, send reports, synchronise data with external systems, or generate new records, all without human initiation.

Typical Use Cases

Scheduled Triggers are widely used for daily summary email reports sent to managers, nightly data synchronisation to external databases, weekly SLA breach checks on open service records, and monthly billing cycle calculations. They are the equivalent of a cron job in traditional development but are configured and managed directly within the no-code Creator environment.
