Visit Duration

The total time a visitor spends on your website during a single session, tracked by Zoho SalesIQ and used as a signal for engagement level and buying intent.

What Is Visit Duration in Zoho SalesIQ?

Visit duration in Zoho SalesIQ is the total time a visitor spends on your website in a single session, from first page load to last recorded interaction. It is one of the behavioural signals used to calculate lead scores and identify engaged visitors worth approaching with a proactive chat.

Duration as Intent Signal

A visitor who spends 8 minutes on your site, visiting the pricing page twice and a case study once, is showing far stronger intent than a visitor who bounces after 10 seconds. Visit duration, combined with pages visited, creates a composite picture of engagement depth.

Configuration in Triggers

Use visit duration as a trigger condition in proactive chat rules. For example, trigger a proactive chat when a visitor has been on the pricing page for more than 60 seconds without initiating a chat themselves. This catches visitors who are engaged but hesitant, at the right moment to provide a helpful nudge.

Why is Visit Duration a useful signal for sales teams monitoring Zoho SalesIQ?

A long visit duration on high-intent pages like pricing or product detail pages indicates a visitor who is actively evaluating, not just browsing. When visit duration is combined with page visit score and visit frequency in the lead scoring model, it helps identify which visitors are closest to making a decision and therefore worth engaging with a proactive chat.

Does Visit Duration in Zoho SalesIQ count time on all pages or just specific ones?

By default, SalesIQ tracks cumulative time across all tracked pages during a single session. Visit duration per page is also available in the visitor timeline, showing how long the visitor spent on each individual page. Both the session total and per-page breakdown are visible when you open a visitor’s detailed profile in the real-time visitor list.
