A visitor in Zoho SalesIQ is any person browsing your website who is tracked by the SalesIQ JavaScript embed code. The real-time visitor list shows all current and recent visitors with details like their location (city, country), device type, browser, current page, time on site, and visit history if they have been to your site before.
Most visitors are anonymous (unknown). When a visitor chats, submits a form, or clicks a CRM-identified link, they become a known visitor with a name, email, and company attached to their record. Zoho SalesIQ also identifies known visitors by matching their email address to existing CRM contacts.
Monitoring the visitor list allows operators to identify high-value prospects browsing key pages and initiate proactive conversations at the right moment. A known visitor (existing CRM contact) spending time on the pricing page is a prime target for immediate outreach.
An anonymous visitor has no email or contact information associated with their session. SalesIQ tracks their behaviour by a cookie identifier but cannot link them to a CRM record. An identified visitor is one who has submitted their email (via a pre-chat form, offline form, or the website passing their details to SalesIQ after login), enabling CRM matching and persistent history.
Yes. SalesIQ allows administrators to delete individual visitor records, including all associated tracking data and conversation history, from the Visitors section. This supports GDPR right-to-erasure requests. Deletion removes the visitor’s data from SalesIQ’s storage; data already pushed to CRM or other integrated systems must be deleted separately in those systems.
