Unsubscribe Rate

The percentage of email recipients in a Zoho Campaigns campaign who clicked the unsubscribe link, indicating audience dissatisfaction with the content or frequency.

What Is Unsubscribe Rate in Zoho Campaigns?

Unsubscribe rate in Zoho Campaigns is the percentage of recipients who clicked the unsubscribe link in a campaign. It is calculated as (Unsubscribes / Delivered Emails) × 100. A rate above 0.5% per campaign is a signal that something is wrong with the content, frequency, or audience targeting.

Interpreting Unsubscribes

Some unsubscribes are healthy — people who are no longer your audience leaving the list voluntarily is better than them marking your emails as spam. However, a spike in unsubscribes after a specific campaign indicates that the content missed the mark for that audience segment.

Reducing Unsubscribes

Maintain consistent content quality and sending frequency. Segment your list and send relevant content to each segment rather than the same message to everyone. Offer a preference centre where subscribers can reduce email frequency or select topic categories instead of the binary subscribe/unsubscribe choice.
