Double Opt-In

A two-step email subscription confirmation process in Zoho Campaigns where a subscriber confirms their signup via a confirmation email before being added to a list.

What Is Double Opt-In in Zoho Campaigns?

Double opt-in (DOI) in Zoho Campaigns is a two-step subscription process: a person fills in a signup form (single opt-in), then receives a confirmation email with a link they must click to finalise their subscription. Only after clicking the confirmation link are they added as an active subscriber.

Benefits of Double Opt-In

DOI eliminates typos and fake email addresses from your list, confirms that the email owner (not just anyone who typed their address) wants to subscribe, and provides documented consent evidence. DOI lists typically have higher engagement rates, better deliverability, and fewer complaints than single opt-in lists.

Drawbacks

DOI reduces the number of subscribers who complete signup, as some people do not click the confirmation link. For businesses focused on maximising list growth speed, this conversion drop is a concern. Balance growth rate against list quality based on your specific marketing goals.
