Custom statuses in Zoho Projects let you define task status labels that match your organisation’s actual workflow rather than using only the default Open, In Progress, and Completed labels. You can create statuses like Waiting for Client Input, In QA Review, or Blocked to represent stages specific to your process.
Navigate to Project Settings > Task Status to add, edit, or reorder statuses. Each custom status is mapped to one of three system states: Open, In Progress, or Closed. This mapping determines how Zoho Projects counts completion percentages and reports on workload.
