Sales by Item Report

A report in Zoho Inventory showing total units sold and revenue generated per item over a selected period, used to identify top and bottom performers.

What Is the Sales by Item Report?

The Sales by Item Report in Zoho Inventory summarises how many units of each item were sold and the total revenue generated over a specified time period. It is one of the most used reports for understanding product performance and informing purchasing and marketing decisions.

Key Metrics

The report typically shows item name, quantity sold, sales amount, and sometimes cost of goods sold and gross profit per item. Sorting by quantity or revenue quickly reveals your top sellers and worst performers.

Use Cases

Use this report to decide which products to reorder proactively, which to discontinue, which deserve more marketing focus, and how to negotiate volume discounts with vendors for high-selling items. It is most useful when compared across periods to identify trends.
