Zoho CRM’s biggest advantage is the Zoho ecosystem. If you are using or plan to use Zoho Books (accounting), Zoho Desk (support), Zoho Campaigns (email marketing), or any of the 45+ Zoho apps, the integration between them is native and tight. Zoho One bundles all of these at a single per-user price that typically works out cheaper than individual subscriptions.
Zoho CRM also has deeper customisation options — custom modules, Deluge scripting, and Canvas view for building custom CRM layouts. For businesses with complex workflows, this matters.

Freshsales has a cleaner, more modern interface that teams find easier to adopt without extensive training. Its built-in phone (softphone) is available from the Growth plan, whereas Zoho CRM requires the PhoneBridge add-on or integration with Zoho Voice. For sales teams that do high-volume calling, Freshsales’ out-of-box calling experience is smoother.
Freshsales also has better email sequencing (automated drip outreach) built into the base plans, whereas Zoho CRM’s equivalent (Sequences) is on Professional and above.
Choose Zoho CRM if: you are already on Zoho Books or Zoho One, you need custom modules or Deluge scripting, you have a team that does longer B2B sales cycles with complex workflows, or you want territory management and forecasting in a single platform.
Choose Freshsales if: your team does high-volume outbound calling and needs a built-in softphone, your sales cycle is relatively simple, or you want a faster onboarding experience with less configuration overhead.
