Multi-Warehouse Inventory Management in Zoho
Zoho Inventory's capability to track stock across multiple physical locations with separate on-hand quantities, transfers, and fulfilment rules per warehouse.
Multi-warehouse management in Zoho Inventory allows a business to maintain separate stock records for each physical location: a central warehouse in Pune, a satellite store in Mumbai, a consignment location at a customer site. Each warehouse has its own on-hand quantity, reorder point, and fulfilment priority. When a sales order arrives, the system can be configured to fulfil from the nearest warehouse to the delivery address.
Inter-warehouse transfers are a core operation. When stock needs to move from the Pune warehouse to the Mumbai store, a transfer order is raised, stock is deducted from the source location on shipment, and added to the destination location on receipt. The transfer is tracked end-to-end with status updates.
Integration with Zoho Books ensures that inventory movements are reflected in the accounting system automatically: a goods receipt updates inventory assets, a sale reduces stock and records cost of goods sold, a write-off creates a loss journal entry. This eliminates the double-entry problem of running Inventory and accounting in separate systems.
