CPQ in Zoho CRM

Configure, Price, Quote — a module in Zoho CRM for generating accurate sales quotes with product configuration rules and approval workflows.

CPQ stands for Configure, Price, Quote. In Zoho CRM, CPQ refers to the Quotes module combined with Products, Price Books, and Discount Rules. It allows sales reps to build a quote directly from a Deal record, selecting products from a catalog, applying tiered pricing or custom price books, and generating a formatted document for the customer.

The 'configure' part matters most for businesses with complex products. A manufacturer with multiple product variants, optional add-ons, and incompatibility rules cannot rely on a simple product list. Zoho CRM's CPQ capabilities, extended with Deluge scripting for custom pricing logic, can enforce that invalid product combinations are never quoted and that margin thresholds are maintained.

Approval workflows sit on top of the CPQ process. A quote with a discount above 15% can be routed automatically to a sales manager for approval before the document is sent. This closes the gap between what reps offer and what the business has approved.
