SuiteFlow
NetSuite's workflow automation tool for creating condition-based business process automations without writing SuiteScript code.
SuiteFlow is NetSuite's built-in workflow engine, accessible from Setup > Customisation > Workflows. It lets you define automated processes on any NetSuite record type using a visual state-and-transition diagram: define states, add conditions that must be true for a transition to fire, and attach actions (field updates, email notifications, record creation, script calls) to each transition.
SuiteFlow is the right tool for approval workflows, status-driven processes, and conditional field updates that do not require complex scripting. A purchase order approval workflow, an employee onboarding checklist, or a customer credit hold process are all well-suited to SuiteFlow.
SuiteFlow and SuiteScript complement each other. SuiteFlow handles the process orchestration (state machine logic, approvals, notifications) while SuiteScript handles the data transformation and external integration steps. Triggering a SuiteScript function from within a SuiteFlow workflow is a common pattern for adding computed logic to an otherwise no-code process.
