Zoho Catalyst
Zoho's serverless cloud development platform for building backend functions, REST API endpoints, and scalable microservices on Zoho infrastructure.
Zoho Catalyst is a full serverless backend platform. Unlike Zoho Creator, which is primarily a form-and-workflow tool, Catalyst lets developers write backend functions in Java, Node.js, or Python, deploy them as serverless endpoints, and run them at scale without managing servers. It includes a data store (Catalyst DataStore), file storage (Catalyst FileStore), scheduled jobs, push notifications, and an ML Services layer.
The primary use case for Catalyst is when a Zoho implementation requires server-side logic that is too complex or high-performance for Deluge: custom APIs consumed by mobile apps, heavy data processing jobs, machine learning inference, or integrations that require persistent state management.
Catalyst functions can be triggered by Zoho CRM webhooks, scheduled CRON jobs, or direct HTTP calls. The platform is priced on execution time and data storage, making it cost-effective for workloads that spike intermittently rather than run continuously.
