Their status changes to Unsubscribed, and Zoho Campaigns automatically excludes them from all future campaign sends. Manually adding an unsubscriber back to a list does not restore their eligibility \u2014 they remain excluded.<\/p>\n<h2>Legal Requirement<\/h2>\n<p>Every marketing email sent through Zoho Campaigns must contain an unsubscribe link. This is both a Zoho Campaigns platform requirement and a legal requirement under CAN-SPAM (USA), GDPR (EU), and similar laws. Removing or hiding the unsubscribe link can result in account suspension and legal penalties.<\/p>\n<h2>Re-engagement Before Unsubscription<\/h2>\n<p>A re-engagement campaign targeting long-inactive subscribers can reduce unsubscribe rates by giving disengaged contacts a low-friction way to update their preferences before they resort to unsubscribing.
