For a Sales Executive, KRAs might include Revenue Target Achievement, New Client Acquisition, and Customer Retention. For an HR Manager, KRAs might include Recruitment TAT, Employee Engagement Score, and Training Completion Rate.

In Zoho People’s performance module, each employee’s appraisal is structured around their assigned KRAs. At the start of the cycle, targets are set for each KRA; at the end, actual performance against those targets is evaluated.

KRA weightage

Not all KRAs are equally important. You can assign a percentage weight to each KRA — Revenue Target Achievement might carry 50% weight, while Customer Retention carries 30% — so the final performance score reflects the relative importance of each area.

KRA vs KPI

A KRA is the broad area of responsibility.
